As some might have noticed, the group has had some work done to the Scout Den over the summer. This has been done to make our Den a safer and more appealing place to be.
Part of this work included the building of a spar rack.
This spar rack will house our group’s spars (long wooden poles), helping to keep them dry and organised. While the rack is structurally stable, it is absolutely not allowed that children (or adults) climb or pull out of it.
There are a number of warning signs around the Scout Den, informing that this is not acceptable. It is the responsibility of all leaders to make sure this is enforced. Particularly in the younger sections, use (taking spars off/putting them on) should be supervised by a leader.
We would ask that parents also help in ensuring our Youth Members do not climb on the new rack.
