An update on all the Troop sections was included in the 1981 edition of the Templeogue Telegraph, which can be downloaded from the South Dublin Libraries website.

The group had been running for ten years in 1981 and had active Cub, Scout and Venturer sections. One Scout, John Purcell, was awarded the Star Scout badge. This was a significant achievement, requiring a Scout to earn at least ten Merit badges and demonstrate a record of service as a ‘First Class Scout’ for at least six months.
Leaders and volunteers mentioned include Fergal Rynne, Padraig Lynch, Linda, Grainne, Sandra and Mairead in the Cub section. ’A.D.O. FitzGibbon’ is given a fond mention in the Venturer group update.

If you have any more info, photos, stories or documents about these early years of the troop it would be great to hear from you. Sign up and leave a comment on this post, or email the group on 37th.dublin.scouts@gmail.com.
