Following on from their successes in the County Shield Competition this year, our Shield team of eight scouts competed in the Phoenix Competition from August 15th to August 18th in the Summer Showgrounds in Cork.
The Phoenix is the National Scoutcraft competition and is only open to patrols who have already competed, and done well, in a County Competition. Scouts are assessed on their skills in setting up a campsite, cooking, safety and hygiene, teamwork and much more.
The patrol achieved a prestigious Silver standard award for their overall abilities across the board. They deserve huge congratulations for all their hard work on the weekend and all their preparation beforehand. Thanks also to the Scouters who facilitated this great achievment.
