Beavers Special Interest Badges

Updated: Jan 12, 2023

Beavers can earn Special Interest Badges (SIBs) for activities outside of there Scout Meetings.

There are five themed SIBs that a Beaver can earn.

  • Skills: Something you learn to do yourself – e.g. drama, cooking, painting, cartoons, languages, music etc

  • Adventure:  A journey that includes something new e.g. a new place, new way of travelling, new people etc

  • Physical: Sport, dance, hiking, archery, climbing or any other physical activity

  • Community Involvement : Helping your community by getting involved e.g volunteering, participation, a community service project, tidy towns etc.

  • Environment: Improve the environment in any way e.g. recycling, leave no trace, community clean up, gardening, nature project, learning about pollution.

To earn the badge the Beavers need to show they have 'done their best'.

To start working on a badge, Beavers will need to fill out the form below and agree it with a leader.

Challenges should be kept simple and fun, ideally:

  • the Beaver should learn new skills or develop existing skills

  • the Beaver should increase their knowledge of their Special Interest

  • the challenge should contain a practical element that will help others e.g. educating other Beavers in the colony through a presentation or demonstration
