The Beavers will be doing the Fairycastle loop for their Christmas hike this year. We did this last year and got some interesting weather. As you can see from the photo, the Beavers were well wrapped up and had a brilliant time anyway!
The hike is between five and six kilometres long and we can expect cold and wet weather so waterproof boots, jackets and trousers are mandatory. Kids should have plenty of layers, gloves and warm hats.
Beavers should pack their own bags and you can download the packing list and badgework guide below:
As part of their Backwoods badge work, Beavers also need to put together a survival kit that they should bring on the hike. Senior Beavers working on their Stage 2 Hillwalking badge will need to bring along a weather forecast as well. All the details are in the guide.
