For the last few weeks our Tuesday 7.30 Beavers have been having fun learning about aviation and earning their Air Adventure badges.
The Beavers started by learning about how planes fly and how to make their own paper airplanes.
The Beavers tried out a few different designs for their Airplanes, before creating their own special design that they used to compete in the Air Olympics the following weekend!
On Sunday 19th May, the Beavers took a trip to Simtech Aviation where they were lucky enough to fly in a professional flight simulator. Some of the luckiest Beavers even got a chance to take off and land the plane!
Finally, the Beavers finished their Aviation training in the Den, with a quiz on all they had learned about Airplanes and Airports. The Beavers who had completed all their requirements were awarded their Air Adventure Skill badges.
A massive thanks to all of the leaders (and Sinead our Venturer helper) who facilitated the Beavers earning their badges! Particularly, thanks to Caroline who arranged our trip to Simtech and to Bob in Simtech who made the trip so memorable.
