As a Scout Group belonging to the national Scouting organisation, Scouting Ireland, we are obliged to hold an annual meeting to vote in our Group Council and present our annual financial statement.
This year is particularly significant as, in order to maintain our status as a Scout Group in Scouting Ireland, we must begin the process of registering the 37th as a charity.
In order to have a quorum for this AGM we must have a minimum of 50% of our families represented at the meeting. Without sufficient representation from parents/guardians we will not be able to hold the meeting.
If we cannot proceed with the AGM, and begin the process of registering as a charity, the consequence is that we will cease to exist as a Scout Group from the end of October. For this reason, it is crucial that all of the families involved in the group do their bit by sending a representative.
Venue: The Den
Arrival Date/Time: 9pm Wednesday 11th October
Attendees: Scouters, Parents and Guardians
Detailed Agenda: An agenda and open call for positions on the Group Council will follow shortly.
