From the foundation of the 37th Troop in 1971 right up until 1988, the Cubs, Scouts and Venturers in the group had to meet wherever they could find a space. Similarly, there was no secure location to store all of the equipment the group needed. This was a less than ideal situation and meant that it was not possible to start a Beaver section, despite high demand.
In 1988 the unit/group leader, Vivian Rynne, made an appeal in the Templeogue Telegraph for funds to buy the Scout Den on Greenlea Road. Thankfully, the community was generous and the group now have the benefit of a permanent home.
